A Baltimore police officer was released from the hospital Saturday morning after getting hit by a car on I-83 South Friday night, police say.
The officer sustained non life-threatening injuries, but didn’t suffer any broken bones, wrote Baltimore Police spokesperson Chakia Fennoy in a statement.
At the time of the crash, the officer was retrieving flares from his vehicle to assist a motorist, Fennoy wrote. Police and fire department were on the scene shortly before 11 p.m.
The driver who struck the officer remained on the scene, Fennoy said.
