Woman killed in head-on collision in South Baltimore, police say

A woman riding in the passenger seat of a car was killed in a collision in South Baltimore on Saturday night, Baltimore Police said.

A vehicle traveling north around 11:50 p.m. on the 1100 block of South Monroe Street near Carroll Park crossed double yellow lines and struck another vehicle head-on. The woman, who was in the car that was struck, was seriously injured and died shortly after she arrived at a hospital.

Police said Sunday that they will identify the woman after notifying her next of kin.
