On Sept. 22, the suspect entered the store just after 6:15 a.m. and left with money and cigarettes, police said. The next morning at 5:45 a.m. he returned and took money from the store employee at knifepoint, they said.

Officers were called later that day to 36th Street and Falls Road in Hampden, where the suspect had been spotted, and arrested Brown, who matched the suspect's description, police said.

Brown faces robbery, theft and assault charges and is being held at Central Booking.

His charging documents had not yet been posted to the state's online database Tuesday, and it was unclear whether he has an attorney.
