Lane of northbound I-95 ramp onto I-395 in Baltimore to close for weekend work

One of two ramp lanes carrying northbound Interstate 95 traffic onto Interstate 395 and into downtown Baltimore will be closed as part of ongoing construction work starting Friday night, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

The closure will begin Friday at 10 p.m. and last until 5 a.m. Monday, weather permitting, the MdTA said.

The work is part of a $66 million project to replace concrete decking and roadway joints on I-95 and the ramps that serve it in the city.

The nearby northbound I-95 exit onto Hanover Street is already closed through early November as part of the work, so drivers are encouraged to use Russell Street or Key Highway to enter the city, the MdTA said.

Drivers should consider avoiding I-95 through Baltimore if their destinations are north or south of the city, using Interstate 695 or Interstate 895 as alternate routes, the MdTA said.
