'300 Men March' scheduled for Friday night

Hundreds are expected to come out Friday night for the "300 Men March," an effort billed as a demonstration against violence.

A march is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at North and Pennsylvania avenues in West Baltimore through five miles across the city.

A flier posted by lead organizer Munir Bahar states: "This IS NOT a protest."

"We, the people are not blaming anyone but ourselves for failing to create a safe environment within out city," the flier states. "Recognizing this, we stand, as a community of all people, ready to begin mobilizing and creating programs that improve community life."

In the past, the demonstration has drawn hundreds from around the city.

A rain date for Friday's March is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday.
