Baltimore police arrest Pikesville bank robbery suspect after barricade situation

Baltimore County police on Friday evening said city police have arrested a bank robbery suspect in Northwest Baltimore after a barricade situation.

County police said they believe the suspect, who has yet to be charged, is responsible for the armed robbery of the M&T Bank in the 2800 block of Smith Avenue in Pikesville at around 1 p.m. Friday. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Police said they tracked the suspect to the 3500 block of Garrison Avenue in the Park Heights area of Baltimore. Other people inside the house left, but the suspect remained inside with a weapon, creating a barricade situation.

Baltimore police handled the barricade situation and arrested the suspect before 9 p.m., according to Baltimore County police. Officers said they would release more information after charges are filed.
