Police said a 22-year-old woman was shot and killed in Canton last night, one of two overnight slayings in Baltimore.
The woman, who police did not identify, was found about 9:30 p.m. in the 800 block of S. Bouldin St. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the head.
Witnesses reported hearing the shots and saw a dark-colored vehicle leave the scene traveling south on Bouldin Street. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man was also killed last night in East Baltimore, less than two hours after he was shot near his home, police said.
Ronald Comer Hall, 46, of the 1700 block of N. Broadway was walking about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and East Lanvale Street when, according to witnesses, he was approached by two men, one armed with a handgun.
Hall was seen turning to flee when he was shot at least once in the chest. He was taken to nearby Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery but died shortly after 8 p.m.
The shooting occurred on the outskirts of the Broadway East neighborhood, which has experienced the most homicides of any city neighborhood, with 12 killings. There have been 229 homicides in 2008, compared with 280 at this point last year.
