17-year-old chased, fatally shot in West Baltimore

A 17-year-old boy died early this morning after he was chased down an alley and shot several times last night in West Baltimore, city police said.
The boy, whose name was not released, was chased by someone down an alley off the 2900 block of Presbury St., then was shot in the back and legs around 10:15 p.m., said Officer Troy Harris, a city police spokesman.
The boy ran west and collapsed in the 3000 block of Presbury St., where police officers from the Southwestern District found him, police said. The shooting happened near the city's Rosemont neighborhood.
The teen was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead about 2:15 a.m., police said.
