Shooting is city's 28th homicide

Police were seeking the public's help as they investigated the fatal shooting early Saturday of a man in a house in Pimlico. The man's identity was withheld pending notification of family members.

No arrest had been made, and police knew of no motive in the shooting. It was Baltimore's 28th homicide of 2008, compared with 45 during the same period last year.

Northwestern District police, responding to a report of a shooting in the 5000 block of Denmore Ave. between West Garrison and Spaulding avenues shortly before 1 a.m., found the man bleeding from at least one gunshot wound. His body was taken to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
