As federal investigators focused their attention on Tuesday's Amtrak wreck near Frankford Junction north of Philadelphia, that injured more than 200 and killed seven, preliminary results indicate that Train 188 was traveling more than 100 mph in a 50 mph zone.

A two-year FBI investigation of Baltimore landfills that involved wiretaps and informants found some employees taking bribes and others stealing then selling thousands of dollars' worth of scrap metal, federal agents said in court records.

State officials approved plans Wednesday to build a $30 million, 60-bed jail to house Baltimore teenagers charged as adults. The new facility will be in an existing building on North Forest Street in East Baltimore.
