The quest for playoff baseball and the joy of cooler autumn weather in the outdoors are colliding in Maryland.
Summers Farm in Frederick has unveiled it's corn maze for 2016, tweeting Sunday an image of its artistic crop field, manicured to pay homage to the Orioles' quest for a third playoff berth in five seasons.
The corn field features a large maze, a baseball bat, '2016,' the Orioles' cartoon bird logo and 'Let's Go O's,' along with the farm's name. The farm announced the design on Twitter.
The maze opens to the public as the Orioles enter the final week of the season, one in which they've been battling at the top of the American League East, as well as for one of two wild card spots.
The farm is located at 5620 Butterfly Lane in Frederick. The fall features —including the corn maze, hayrides, pumpkin patch and more — are open from Sept. 24 to Oct. 31.
In 2014, Summers Farm used a Star-Spangled Banner theme for the field.
Maryland's current event/pop-culture-driven corn mazes aren't just limited to Summers Farm.
Also last year, Lawyer's Farm in Thurmont has converted its corn maze in tribute to the state and Gov. Larry Hogan's battle against cancer, using #HoganStrong in its design.
