A vehicle parked beneath residences is swamped (right, beneath deck) as the flood slowly overtakes the town after the first batch of floodgates of the Conowingo Dam, upstream of the riverside community, were opened . Mandatory evacuations commenced this evening as up to 50 floodgates are expected to be opened in anticipation of the rising levels of the Susquehanna River.
