National 9/11 Flag

Pieces of three American flags from Maryland were sewn into the National 9/11 Flag. The white piece and three red strands are from Flag House. The darker square around it is from a flag flown over Ft. McHenry and the lighter red patch around it is from a flag flown over the grave of Francis Scott Key. The flag is on view Thursday outside the visitors center at the Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine. It was damaged on September 11 in the World Trade Center Attacks. Pieces of other American flags have been added to restore it.
