3 dead, 2 injured in helicopter-plane crash in Frederick

A small plane and a helicopter crashed in mid-air near Frederick Municipal Airport. Three are confirmed dead and two injured.

Three people were killed and two others were injured in a crash between a plane and a helicopter at Frederick Municipal Airport Thursday, State Police said.

State Police identified the three who died as Christopher D. Parsons, 29, of Westminster; Breandan J. MacFawn, 35, of Cumberland; and William Jenkins, 47, of Morrison, Colo. All three were aboard the helicopter during the crash, police said.

The two men on the plane, Scott V. Graeves, 55, of Brookeville, and Gilbert L. Porter, 75, of Sandy Spring, were taken by ambulance to the trauma center at Meritus Health hospital in Hagerstown, where they were treated and released Thursday night, police said.

Graeves was piloting the airplane and Porter was his passenger, police said.
