An Anne Arundel County grand jury on Friday indicted a man in a murder last month in Glen Burnie.
David Leander Ford, 58, of Glen Burnie, was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure for the July 8 stabbing death of Mohamed Bashir Eltahir, 38, also of Glen Burnie.
At about 7:20 p.m. on July 8, police responded to the area of Whitmore Court and Shelly Road, where they found Eltahir suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Assistant State's Attorney Aaron Meyers told the court during Ford's bail hearing last month that the confrontation started when Ford made a sexual reference toward Eltahir's sister.
An argument ensued that ended with Ford stabbing Eltahir four to five times, Meyers said.
Ford then fled the area, knocking over bystanders in the process, the prosecutor said.
Eltahir was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he died.
Ford was identified as the suspect by two witnesses at the scene, according to court records. He was arrested in Lansdowne.
A judge ordered Ford held without bail. He remains at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in Annapolis.
