Volunteers 25 and older are needed to lead support groups for people with early stage Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Train guide dogs
Volunteers are needed to raise puppies to become guide dogs and prepare them for formal training. The volunteers, who can be as young as 13 with parental supervision, take the puppies into their homes for 14 to 18 months and teach them manners and social skills. In addition to working and playing daily with their dogs, the volunteers attend classes and puppy evaluations. Puppy classes are at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at St. Matthew's Church in Bowie.
