Course in amateur radio

The Anne Arundel Radio Club offers an entry-level amateur radio technician license course in six sessions from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays starting March 8 at the Davidsonville Recreation Center, 3727 Queen Anne Bridge Road. Classical music

The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra presents "Austrian Melodies" at 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Feb. 28-March 1 at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St. in Annapolis. Program pays homage to the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Anton Bruckner. In conjunction with these concerts, St. John's College and the orchestra will hold a panel discussion on Bruckner's Symphony No. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 18 in the Conversation Room at the college, 60 College Ave. Concert tickets are $25, $10 for students. Theatrical production

'All That Art'

Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts will host its ninth annual "All That Art" auction fundraiser from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 7 at 801 Chase St. in Annapolis. Event includes an exhibition of more than 45 pieces of art in all genres and a reception with a live and silent auctions of art during the evening. Tickets are $75. Event will feature live and silent auctions of artwork, ranging from traditional and abstract paintings to photography and sculpture. Anthem auditions

The Bowie Baysox will hold auditions Saturday, March 15, for those who would like to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at home games during the coming season. Prince George's Stadium gates open at 9 a.m. for registration, and auditions begin at 9:30 a.m. Every participant must register, and auditions are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. Auditions will be held rain or shine, reservations for audition times will not be accepted, and word sheets are not allowed during the audition. All auditions must be done in person. The eighth annual Emily Schindler Memorial Triathlon will be held April 26 at the Community Center in Severna Park. The 800-yard swim, 9.5-mile bike and 3-mile run will be held at the SPY Aquatics Center, 623 Baltimore/Annapolis Blvd. and the Baltimore/Annapolis Trail. Interested persons can also sign up for the Flamingo Feat distance of a1600 yard swim, 18-mile bike and six-mile run. Check-in time is 6 a.m. and the first wave of swimmers starts at 7 a.m. Registration fee is $50 for an individual, $90 for a two-person relay team and $135 for a three-person relay team. Flower mart

The Four Rivers Garden Club will hold its annual Flower Mart from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 30 at the Market House in downtown Annapolis. An assortment of native plants and perennials from members' gardens as well as cut flowers and attic treasures will be offered for sale. Club members will fashion May baskets from cut flowers and offer expert advice on flower arranging for the novice. Flower arranging workshops are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Cost is $25-$35.
