An Annapolis technology company stepped up with a last-minute $10,000 donation to help provide Christmas gifts and food to needy Anne Arundel County residents.
Anne Arundel's Department of Social Services put out a desperate call for help for its annual Holiday Sharing program earlier this month.
Annapolis Micro Systems owner Jane Donaldson donated $10,000 to help the Holiday Sharing program meet its goal of helping 1,200 needy Anne Arundel families.
County Executive Laura Neuman visited the company on Friday to offer a personal thank-you to Donaldson, who the executive described as "a great corporate citizen."
"Anne Arundel County is fortunate to have business owners such as her who are willing to step up and set a tremendous example of what it really means to give selflessly during the holidays," Neuman said in a statement.
