A Pasadena man has been charged with robbing a man on the Baltimore-Annapolis Trail on Thursday night, Anne Arundel County police said.
The robbery victim told police he was on the trail near Norfolk Road in Glen Burnie when two masked men robbed him. One robber beat him with a baseball bat and the victim fought back, stabbing him with a knife. The robbers made off with the man's shoes, cellphone and knife.
Police had encountered the robber who was stabbed minutes before the victim made his report. Police said he claimed he had been the victim of an attempted robbery but was otherwise uncooperative.
Once police sorted things out, they charged Antowan Royell Banjoman Jr., 17, of the 7800 block of Levy Court in Pasadena as an adult with armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and theft of less than $1,000.
Banjoman was treated at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.
The other suspect was not caught, police said.
