Boy dies during Annapolis' Fourth of July parade

A 7-year-old boy was killed Thursday night when he tumbled from a vehicle getting ready to join Annapolis' Fourth of July parade.

According to a news release, the accident occurred at about 7 p.m. while the vehicle in which the boy was riding was preparing to enter the parade queue on Amos Garrett Boulevard.

The child was rushed to Anne Arundel Medical Center, but he died in the hospital from his injuries, according to the release.

Police aren't releasing further information on the boy's name or the type of vehicle involved. The accident is being investigated by the Annapolis Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
