Schuh names manager for county executive campaign

Del. Steve Schuh has hired a manager for his campaign to become Anne Arundel's next county executive.

Diane Croghan will lead the Republican's campaign. Crogan previously worked for County Executive Laura Neuman and former County Executive John R. Leopold on issues related to Fort George G. Meade. She's also worked for the House of Delegates Republican Caucus and served as a regional political director for former Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., according to Schuh.

"Diane is bright, creative and has a strong history of successful campaign experience," Schuh said in a statement.

Schuh, who lives in Gibson Island, announced his campaign for county executive in the spring, joining County Councilman John Grasso of Glen Burnie in the Republican primary.

Neuman formed a campaign committee and held a fundraiser earlier this month, but has not yet publicly announced that she's running to win a term of her own as county executive. Neuman was appointed county executive by the County Council in February following Leopold's resignation.

On the Democratic side, Joanna Conti of Annapolis is making a second run for the job. She lost to Leopold in a three-way race in 2010.
