Concert Traveling troubadour Bob Zentz performs maritime music from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Captain Salem Avery Museum, 1418 E. W. Shady Side Road in Shady Side. Navy boot camps The Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center of the U.S. Naval Academy holds the first of its annual "Navy Way" boot camps. Basic Boot Camp is a morning program; Advanced Boot Camp is an afternoon program. Basic Boot Camp is for recruits ages 6-12 and runs from 10 a.m. to noon. Recruits are issued a sailor's cap, learn Navy terms, march, chant, follow orders and eat in a simulated mess hall. The cost is $35 and includes a "Dixie cup" cap, camp, lunch (two slices of pizza and a soda) and a certificate of participation at graduation. Advanced Boot Camp is for graduates of Basic Boot Camp ages 9-12 and runs from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Participants take seamanship training (tying knots), learn how to use semaphore flags and march in precision drill. The cost is $40 and includes all training materials. Graduates attain the rank of Swabbie 1st Class and receive a certificate of participation and a button for their cap at graduation. Jazz The Sachs Memorial Summer Jazz Series continues with the Jeff Antoniuk Jazz Update at 6 p.m. July 18 at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St. in Annapolis. Dinner and baseball The Bowie Baysox will host a "German Bierstube Beer Dinner" July 19 as the team takes on the Binghamton Mets at Prince George's Stadium. The event includes a two-hour buffet and three-hour open bar in the Diamond View restaurant. Gates open at 6 p.m., and food is served until 8 p.m. The menu includes tossed mixed greens, steamed shrimp, roasted pork loin, salmon curran, braised brats and onions, mixed vegetables, warm German potato salad and apple strudel crunch. Crab feast The Rotary Club of Annapolis will hold its annual crab feast from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 3 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. The all-you-can-eat-and-drink affair includes large and No. 1 male crabs, Maryland crab soup, corn on the cob, beef barbecue, hot dogs, draft beer, sodas and water. There will be a bake sale and cake raffle. Tickets are $60; $20 for children ages 3 to 12; free for those younger than 3.
