New pastor

The Rev. James Bishop Sr. has been appointed to Asbury Town Neck United Methodist Church, 429 Asbury Drive in Severna Park. For the past eight years, he has served as pastor of Goshen United Methodist Church in Gaithersburg. Worship services are at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sundays. All are welcome.

Educator's Sunday

On Aug. 21, Woods Presbyterian Church will honor and bless educators during the 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services at the church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. in Severna Park. Teachers, principals and other educators are invited. A reception will held between services in the Fellowship Hall. Information: 410-647-2550.

Festival

Galilee Lutheran Church's annual Peach Festival will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at 4652 Mountain Road in Pasadena. The event includes peaches and ice cream, desserts, pit beef sandwiches and platters, hot dogs and salads. There will also be a silent auction. Information: 410-255-2060.
