Anne Arundel County police were seeking a 27-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run traffic accident Sunday morning in Glen Burnie.
Police said the 48-year-old driver of a white 1997 Dodge Caravan reported he was traveling east on 8th Avenue near Mary Wagner Lane just before 10 a.m. Sunday when a westbound Acura failed to remain right of the center lane and collided head-on with the Dodge. The driver of the Acura, identified by police as Juan Adrien Perez, got out of the car and fled the scene on foot. Other occupants of the Acura remained on scene, police said.
An 8-month-old child in the Acura was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for precautionary purposes, and a 43-year-old female occupant of the Dodge was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, Perez also uses the names Jorge Martinez-Perez, Yovani Perez-Zamayoa and Yovani Perez-Zamoxa. Police said he lives in the Glen Ridge Community Apartment Complex, and they described him as Hispanic, with short, black hair. He was last seen wearing a white, short-sleeve, collared shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information on Perez's whereabouts was urged to contact the Police Department's Northern District at 410-222-6135.
