Wednesday, Feb. 2

Luncheon series Dr. Jean Russo, associate general editor of the "Archives of Maryland Online" and historian for the Historic Annapolis Foundation, is the featured speaker at the Shady Side Rural Heritage Society's Winter Luncheon Series at the Captain Salem Avery House Museum, 1418 E. West Shady Side Road. The series runs at 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays through Feb. 16, and features a speaker on historical and cultural subjects. Admission is $85 for the series; individual luncheons $17. Maritime seminar series The Annapolis Maritime Museum's Maritime Seminar Series continues with Ginger Doyel, author of "Over the Bridge: A History of Eastport at Annapolis." Boot camp The Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis is holding Basic and Advanced Boot Camps on Saturday, Feb. 19. Basic runs 10 a.m. to noon; advanced is 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The boot camps give kids an opportunity to learn Navy terms, march, chant and follow orders. Camp and activities fair The Chesapeake Family's annual Summer Camp & Activities Fair takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Annapolis Area Christian School, 716 Bestgate Road in Annapolis. Event provides families an opportunity to meet with more than 50 local and out-of-state day and overnight camp representatives while saving money with exclusive camp air only deals.
