Luncheon series Jamie Barrett will be the opening speaker at the Shady Side Rural Heritage Society's Winter Luncheon Series at the Captain Salem Avery House Museum, 1418 E. West Shady Side Road. Series will continue every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. through Feb. 16, and features a speaker on a variety of historical and cultural subjects. Maritime seminar series The Annapolis Maritime Museum's Maritime Seminar Series opens with author William Dudley speaking on his newest book, "Maritime Maryland, a History." This is the first of 10 weekly seminars taking place at 7 p.m. Thursdays at the museum, 723 Second St. in Annapolis.
