Workshop

Faculty honors

The Board of Trustees of Anne Arundel Community College has awarded emeritus status to three recently retired long-term faculty members. They are: Richard Faircloth of Alexandria, Va., professor of biology; Norma Hamilton of Williamsburg, Va., professor of nursing; and Richard Niewerth of Severna Park, professor of art. The faculty emeritus honor is awarded to retired or retiring professors with at least 20 years of service who have made significant contributions to the college. Information: 410-777-2222.

Nursing scholarships

Through 2014, three Anne Arundel Community College nursing students will receive $3,000 scholarships through a program set up by Johns Hopkins HealthCare. The scholarships will benefit county residents enrolled in the college's registered nursing associate of science degree program who demonstrate financial need as established by the AACC financial aid office. Solar panel installation class

The Baltimore Building Congress and Exchange Foundation has donated $4,500 to Anne Arundel Community College Foundation Inc. to fund scholarships for those enrolled in the college's new solar panel installation class. The course is offered Oct. 19 through Dec. 14. Information: 410-777-2056.
