Two Glen Burnie men have been charged with drug counts after a parcel intended for them was found to contain more than four pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of about $42,000.
Ernest Hines, 27, Maurice Brooks, 28, were arrested after a parcel sent from California showed signs of containing the drug when inspected at a local sorting facility.
Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department say they were tipped off and made what they call a "controlled delivery" of the package Tuesday at the house the men were sharing on the 700 block of James Road.
The detectives say they observed from afar as one of the two men accepted it and went back into the house. The detectives then executed a search-and-seizure warrant and took custody of the parcel, $486 in cash, a digital scale and an additional 20 grams of what they suspected was marijuana.
Hines and Brooks were charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
