Radio club
The Anne Arundel Radio Club will hold a free 10-week course that leads to a Technician Class Amateur Radio (HAM) license from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays beginning Aug. 7. Classes will be held at the Davidsonville Family Recreation Center, 3789 Queen Anne Bridge Road, Davidsonville. Students will be responsible for purchasing the technician class license manual. Preservation Awards nominations
The Historic Annapolis Foundation seeks nominations for its annual Preservation Awards, which highlight outstanding efforts within the city and its historic district. Auditions
Pasadena Theatre Company will hold auditions for its fall production of "Jekyll & Hyde" at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, and Monday, Aug. 2, at the Abundant Life Church, 7305 E. Furnace Branch Road in Glen Burnie. Auditions consist of singing, a short dance sequence and readings. Philanthropist nominations
The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County is seeking nominations for its annual Philanthropist of the Year award. This award is presented to an individual, couple or family with a record of exceptional generosity through direct financial support, demonstrating outstanding civic and charitable responsibility that encourages others to and become philanthropic leaders. Teen workshop
A musical theater workshop for teens who want to explore drama and vocal skills, monologues, cold readings, audition techniques and styles of dance will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, through Friday, Aug. 6, at the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre, 143 Compromise St., Annapolis. The Anne Arundel Volunteer Center has released its 2010-2011 Youth Resource Guide, which provides information about nonprofit and faith-based organizations in the county. Law enforcement
The Annapolis Police Department Law Enforcement Explorer Post 199 is accepting applications. Law Enforcement Exploring is a program for those who have completed eighth grade and are 14 to 20 years old. The program offers information on career activities.

Fingerprinting service
The Annapolis Police Department offers fingerprinting service at 199 Taylor Ave. from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays. Service will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first Saturday of the month. The fee is $5 per fingerprint card, and the person being printed must supply the cards. Check or money order only.
