Hospice Cup
Hospice Cup Inc. has launched its improved website at hospicecup.org. Visitors will find information on how to participate in Hospice Cup as sailors, spectators, donors or volunteers. Community foundation seeks nominations
The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County if seeking nominations for its annual Philanthropist of the Year Award. This award is presented to an individual, couple or family with a record of exceptional generosity through direct financial support, demonstrating outstanding civic and charitable responsibility and generosity that encourages others to step up and become philanthropic leaders. Teen workshop
A musical theater workshop for teens who want to explore drama and vocal skills, monologues, cold readings, audition techniques and styles of dance will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 2-6 at the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre, 143 Compromise St., Annapolis. Resource guide
The Anne Arundel Volunteer Center has released its 2010-2011 Youth Resource Guide, which provides information about nonprofit and faith-based organizations in the county. Law enforcement
The Annapolis Police Department Law Enforcement Explorer Post 199 is accepting applications. Law Enforcement Exploring is a program for those who have completed eighth grade and are 14 to 20 years old. The program offers information on career activities.

Dance classes
"Ballet 40/60," adult dance classes designed for those older than 40 who have little or no experience in ballet or those who have experience but have not danced in some time, will be held at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St., Annapolis. Classes are 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Mondays through Aug. 2, and 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Aug. 3.
In addition, "Ballet 40/60: Beyond the Basics," for those who had considerable training in their youth or young-adult years, will be held 7:30 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. Tuesdays through Aug. 3, and 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 4. Fingerprinting service
The Annapolis Police Department offers fingerprinting service at 199 Taylor Ave. from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays. Service will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every first Saturday of the month. The fee is $5 per fingerprint card, and the person being printed must supply the cards. Check or money order only. Tours of historic house
The Anne Arundel County Historical Society has opened the historic Benson-Hammond House and North Browse and Buy Shoppe at Aviation Boulevard and Andover Road in Linthicum for the season. Tours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. Group tours are by appointment.
