Jousting tournament Annual St. Margaret's Ring Joust and Country Faire takes place at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 1601 Pleasant Plains Road, Annapolis. Event features beginner and professional class jousting, local crafts, baked goods, pony rides, children's activities and more. The Country Faire opens at 10:30 a.m. followed by the "Charging of the Knights" ceremony at 11:30 am. Tournament continues until the last jouster has ridden and the winner is crowned. Navy Boot Camps The Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center of the U.S. Naval Academy will sponsor two "Navy Way" boot camps this summer, on July 17 and Aug. 7. Basic Boot Camp is a morning program and Advanced Boot Camp is an afternoon program. Basic Boot Camp is for recruits ages 6-12 and runs from 10 a.m. to noon. Recruits are issued a sailor's cap, learn Navy terms, march, chant, follow orders and eat in a simulated mess hall. Cost is $35 and includes a "Dixie cup" cap, camp, lunch (two slices of pizza and a soda), and a certificate of participation at graduation. Advanced Boot Camp is for graduates of Basic Boot Camp who are ages 9-12, and runs from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Participants take seamanship training (tying knots), learn how to use semaphore flags and march in precision drill. Cost is $35 (with cap), or $40 (if purchasing new cap), and includes all training materials. Graduates attain the rank of Swabbie 1st Class and receive a certificate of participation and a button for their cap at graduation. Registration and information: 410-293-8111 or jopp@usna.edu.

Summer camp "Remembering When," an exploration of early life in Annapolis and South County, is the theme of the Shady Side Rural Heritage Society's summer camp, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 26-30 at the Captain Salem Avery Museum, 1418 E.W. Crab feast The Rotary Club of Annapolis will hold its annual crab feast from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. Event is all you can eat and drink, including vegetable crab soup, corn on the cob, beef barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, draft beer, sodas and water. There will also be a bake sale and cake raffle.
