Annapolis man charged with attempted sexual assault of teen

Anne Arundel County police have arrested a 44-year-old man and charged him with attempted second-degree rape of a 14-year old girl at his home in Annapolis.

Police said Leonard Claude Dilley was arrested at his home Sunday. A District Court judge ordered him jailed in lieu of $300,000 bail, according to court records.

The teenager had told police around 2:35 a.m. June 16 that she was assaulted, police said. Witnesses said the girl knew the man and was in a bedroom with him, where he was trying to assault her, according to police. According to court records, he is also awaiting trials on charges of assault, violating a protective order and related counts, as well as theft in a separate case.
