Surgical technology program

Anne Arundel Community College is seeking applications for enrollment in the new surgical technology degree program beginning in August. First consideration will be given to residents of Anne Arundel County. Applications filed after July 1 will be considered on a space-available basis. Summer registration

Registration is under way for summer classes offered by Anne Arundel Community College at the seven senior activity centers operated by the county Department of Aging and Disabilities. Classes begin July 6. For a class schedule, visit the center you plan to attend or go to aacounty.com/aging and click on a center for a list of courses. Information: 410-777-2241.

Solar panel installation course

The Baltimore Building Congress and Exchange Foundation has donated $4,500 to Anne Arundel Community College Foundation Inc. to fund scholarships for those enrolled in the college's new solar panel installation class. Information: 410-777-2056.

Nursing scholarships

Beginning this fall and continuing through 2014, three Anne Arundel Community College nursing students will receive a $3,000 scholarship through a program set up by Johns Hopkins HealthCare to help with their educational costs. The scholarship is to benefit students who demonstrate financial need as established by the AACC Financial Aid Office, are Anne Arundel County residents and enrolled in the college's Registered Nursing Associate of Science Degree program.
