Opening of rain gardens The Shady Side Rural Heritage Society holds the grand opening of its bio-retention project from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 13 at the Captain Salem Avery Museum, 1418 E.W. Shady Side Road. Featured will be newly installed rain gardens near the boat shed, rain barrels, information about lawn care and an educational eco-tour of the museum grounds.
