Police charged two men Friday in the death of a missing Locust Point man whose body was found in Patapsco Valley State Park last month.
Kevin M. Skipper, 30, of the 500 block of E. Fort Ave. was arrested Friday and Christopher S. Calvert, 31, of the 1300 block of Richardson St., for whom police are still searching, are both charged in the death of 31-year-old Matthew C. Martin.
Martin was last seen April 9 and was reported missing by his mother, JoAnn Martin, on April 11.
His body was found by two fisherman May 15 in the state park. They noticed an elbow sticking up from the shallow grave near the 1200 block of River Road in Linthicum Heights and called police.
Police said Calvert, Skipper and Martin were acquaintances who met at Calvert's basement apartment the night Martin went missing. The two men killed Martin in Calvert's apartment and buried him in the park, police said.
A motive remains unclear, police said.
The two men are charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and two counts of use of a deadly weapon. Both men had previous drug-related charges, according to electronic court records.
Police said Calvert is known to frequent the areas of South Baltimore, Locust Point and Brooklyn Park and warn that he is considered dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the Maryland State Police at 410-761-5130.
