Authorities in Anne Arundel County say a 40-year-old man was killed this morning when a slab of granite fell on top of him.

Police said the accident happened about 9:20 a.m. in the 7200 block of Standard Drive in Hanover as the man was unloading granite from a tractor trailer at a store.

He was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
