Police: Man uses fake money to buy beer at Annapolis bars

Four Annapolis restaurateurs told police that a man paid for six-packs of beer Sunday evening with a fake $100 bill.

Police said they suspect the same man went from bar to bar within about an hour. About 8:30 p.m., a man bought a six-pack of Heineken at the Boatyard Bar & Grill, and just before 9 p.m., a man bought a six-pack of Corona at Davis' Pub, according to Annapolis police. Both bars are in the Eastport community.

Shortly after 9 p.m., a man bought a six-pack of Heineken at Armadillo's Bar & Grill at City Dock -- where he tipped the bartender with change made from the counterfeit bill -- and also at the nearby Acme Bar and Grill on Main Street, police said.
