Scholarship for children of breast cancer patients

The Joan Lauffer Breast Cancer Scholarship Fund will award up to $1,000 to a college-bound high school senior who has or had a parent with breast cancer. The student should attend public or private school in Anne Arundel County. Write an essay of one to three paragraphs explaining how cancer has affected your family and how the scholarship will help. Deadline is May 31. Women’s health expo

The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition will sponsor a women’s health expo from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Sheraton Hotel, 173 Jennifer Road, Annapolis. Information on medical research advances, skin care, stress management, nutrition and more will be featured, The registration fee is $40 and includes breakfast. Supermarket health lessons

Sponsored by the Learn to Live program of the Anne Arundel County Department of Health, educators will answer questions on nutrition and distribute free low-fat recipes at Graul’s supermarket, 607 Taylor Ave., Annapolis, noon to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 26, 10 a.m to 3 p.m. March 27 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 28.

Caregivers’ conference

The Department of Aging and Disabilities’ annual caregivers’ conference will be held for family caregivers, social workers, nurses and other professionals, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 10 at the Annapolis Senior Activity Center, 119 S.
