Thieves steal copper wire, pipes from Annapolis housing site

Large amounts of copper wire and pipe were stolen this week from apartments under construction by the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis, police said Friday.

The metals are valuable for resale or home construction, according to police.

Either Monday night or Tuesday morning, someone entered the property, in the 100 block of Clay St., police said. A locked fence around the building showed no sign of forced entry. The apartments were open because they were under construction, according to police.
