People seeing a plume of smoke Friday afternoon at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport had no cause for concern. Airport spokesman Jonathan Dean confirmed a training exercise was being conducted by BWI Fire and Rescue Department.
Dean said BWI performs routine training exercises at the airport throughout the year.
The airport serves the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan area and is located in Anne Arundel County.
