Gambrills restaurant employee charged in stabbing of coworker

Anne Arundel County police say a Washington man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly stabbed a coworker at a Gambrills steakhouse.

At about 3:40 p.m., officers were called to the Fuji Steakhouse, in the 1400 block of South Main Chapel Way in Gambrills, for a report of an injury, and found a that a 30-year-old employee had been cut with a knife.

The man told police he and a coworker had been in an altercation, and the victim said he hit the coworker with a frying pan. The other man retaliated by cutting the victim in the head with a knife. He also sustained cuts in the leg and arm, police said.

The victim was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, and Li Chen, 26, of Washington, was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Police said their investigation is continuing, with potential charges pending against the victim as well.
