Driver charged after tractor hits parked cars and family home in Brooklyn Park, police say

Anne Arundel County police charged a Brooklyn Park man Sunday after they say he crashed his employer’s truck tractor.

James Rzepnicki, 39, took the tractor from his work without authorization, police said, and hit an occupied car and multiple parked cars before driving into a front porch on Doris Avenue in Brooklyn Park, police said.

Rzepnicki fled on foot and was later found by police near the Brooklyn Homes Community Center. He was arrested and charged with assault and destruction of property according to online court records.

Rzepnicki is represented by a public defender at Annapolis District Court. The public defender’s office did not respond for comment.

The police department said in a tweet just after 9 p.m. that the driver fled on foot after the crash at Doris Avenue and 4th Street and was “quickly apprehended.”

County police said Baltimore City officers helped with the arrest.

No injuries or structural damage was reported, police said.
