Elementary school girl grabbed by man on way home

An 11-year-old girl in Glen Burnie told police a man grabbed her arm Monday afternoon as she was walking home, though the girl was able to escape.

The girl was walking with a group of other children along Heritage Crossing near Ellsworth Terrace around 3 p.m. and ended up ahead of the crowd, Anne Arundel County police said. A man she did not know grabbed her arm from behind, but she was able to break the grasp and run home uninjured.

Police searched for the man with a helicopter and dogs after the girl reported the incident but could not find him. Officers planned to step up patrols around local schools on Tuesday.

The man is described as white, tall and in his 30s, with short dark hair and a ying-yang tattoo on his arm.
