An Edgewater woman bit a police officer after being arrested Friday for allegedly trying to rob a gas station, Anne Arundel County police said.
A woman in a green sweatshirt and sunglasses used a note to try to rob a BP gas station at 5423 Southern Maryland Blvd. in Lothian around 8:30 a.m., police said. But she ultimately left without taking any money.
A customer saw the woman getting into a red Chevrolet Cavalier in the parking lot and jotted down the license plate number, which was provided to police. The car was later traced to Sherry L. Hunt, 29, who was arrested.
At the police station, Hunt "became violent" and assaulted several officers and detectives, biting one, according to police. She had no attorney listed in court records.
