A 21-year-old Gambrills woman was killed in a hit-and-run on Route 295 on Sunday morning, Maryland State Police said.
Marian Narain was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Troopers arrived just before 6 a.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck on southbound Route 295 at Nursery Road and found Narain in the road and a white 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan located 15 feet over the guardrail.
Troopers believe Narain was driving the Volkswagen southbound on Route 295 toward Nursey Road when the car veered off the road and crashed. Narain then got out of her car and entered the road on foot when she was struck by oncoming traffic, according to the Maryland State Police.
The investigation is ongoing. Maryland State Police ask anyone with information about the hit-and-run to call the Glen Burnie Barrack at 410-761-5130.
