A two-story, single-family home in Edgewater caught fire at about 8:40 p.m. on Easter Sunday, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said.

About 50 firefighters were called to the home in the 3700 block of Oak Lane to extinguish the flames, which appeared to have started in the basement, department spokesman Capt. Russ Davies said.

He said some of the occupants were home at the time but no one was injured.

No damage estimate was available Sunday night. "It may not be a total loss, but it's substantial damage," he said.
