One man has died and another was injured in a head-on crash Friday morning in southern Anne Arundel County, police said.
The incident, which involved two vehicles, was reported at 6:22 a.m. at the intersection of Route 258 and Nutwell Sudley Road in Deale, said Anne Arundel County Police in a statement Friday afternoon.
John Leonard Lonigan, a 20-year-old from the 5900 block of Sneed Drive in Deale, was driving a Chevy Impala that crossed the double yellow line and struck a Ford truck, according to the statement.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of a Ford truck, Donald August Applekamp Jr., was flown to the Prince George's County Trauma Center with serious injuries, police said. Applekamp is a 55-year-old from Deale.
Police said Lonigan had likely been programming his GPS at the time of the collision and was speeding.
