Six people were sent to the hospital Sunday evening after five cars crashed in Anne Arundel County, police said.
Maryland State Police said in a tweet around 5 p.m. that five cars crashed on U.S. 50 eastbound, right before exit 32.
All lanes were closed for about two hours. The severity of the injuries is unclear.
Ron Snyder, a state police spokesman, said Monday there were no fatalities, but the agency did not have updates on the injured people’s conditions.
Snyder said the incident is still being reviewed, and a preliminary investigation found that it “was a chain reaction crash involving five vehicles.”
