Spirit Airlines announces new flights to Nashville from BWI Marshall Airport

Baltimore residents can soon easily swap their crab cakes for country music.

Spirit Airlines will begin offering daily flights later this year from Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to Nashville, the airline announced Tuesday.

The route will begin on Oct. 10 and is the sixth route to be added to Spirit Airlines at BWI in 2019.

The year-round, nonstop flights from Nashville will be Spirit’s fifth new route this year to travel from Baltimore to cities in the Southeast, including Austin, Jacksonville, Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte.

Having serviced nearly 2 million passengers at BWI airport in 2018, Spirit is the airport’s second-largest airline. Baltimore residents can fly Spirit Airlines to destinations all over the world — the closest destinations in North Carolina and some of the farthest in Colombia.
