Annapolis Center

Free concerts: The following are concerts scheduled at the center in May. Concerts begin at 12:30 p.m.
•Charles Taylor and the Availables play Motown and blues music Wednesday, May 21.
•Chuck Fisher performs the music of Bobby Vinton, Paul Anka, Marty Robbins and the Platters on Wednesday, May 28.
Flea market and bake sale Event takes place beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday, May 21-22. Proceeds will benefit the center.
The trip committee is accepting reservations for a European river cruise on the Danube. The Aug. 2-13 trip includes visits to Prague, Budapest and Vienna. The price depends on the cabin.

Summer classes Registration is underway for classes starting July 7.
The Knitting Group meets from 10 a.m. to noon the second and fourth Mondays of each month. All levels of knitting expertise are welcome.
Beginning tap dance An introduction to tap will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays. No experience is needed; the instructor is Vicki Smith. Fee is $40.
Jazz dance Vicki Smith leads a class from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fridays. All levels of experience are welcome. Fee is $40.
Creative Crafts Evelyn Bacon will lead classes from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays. Fee is $40.
Aquacise An exercise program conducted in warm water to improve flexibility, mobility and range of motion and boost stamina will take place from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at the Arundel Olympic Swim Center, 2690 Riva Road in Annapolis. Cost is $40.

Information on assisted-living homes and other housing options for seniors has been updated on the county Department of Aging and Disabilities website at aacounty.org/aging.
Support groups
The Department of Aging and Disabilities has updated a booklet on community support groups. The booklet focuses on groups for caregivers, Alzheimer's disease, bereavement for adults and children, diabetes, brain injury, cancer, stroke, cardiac and pulmonary problems, Parkinson's disease and bowel and urinary diversions. Residents' rights
Brochures on residents' rights in nursing homes and assisted-living facilities and a brochure on the ombudsman program protecting those residents are available from the Department of Aging and Disabilities.
